This is the first movement of a piece I composed for my English Class to advocate for Music Education. This movement tells the story of a beginning musician as she begins her musical journey. As she tries to learn a tune, a more experienced peer plays it with her. The new player works hard to learn the melody as she wants to be like her peer. As she improves, the more experienced flautist plays a harder melody and the new player joins her and they begin their dance and compete for first chair.
