Another movie soundtrack idea. Psych horror/science fiction/avant-garde. Music in the vein of noisy, manipulated keys, odd, unsettling, threatening, et cetera... but graced throughout by respites, not only in short instances of otherwise chaotic songs, but even in full songs themselves. This is the one of those respite songs, offered after a very active and explosive first song; nothing but tonal, no drums, almost all very soft tones.... except for the distorted lead guitar which plays propped against the two other guitars, which play clean-toned and very active "background melodies."
The main character is an Irish Christian young woman studying abroad in the USA (for those people exist, actually; right here in this little college town are numerous Australians). Morally defined and a curious and persistent pursuant of Truth... dealing with a troubled home life... she continually has to battle between lonely hopelessness and an appreciation in beauty whenever and wherever it may appear. It is with mixed feelings she wonders through the University of Washington, specifically her favorite spot, the library.... realizing that, while the people today do not belong in something so splendid, people still have it in them to make splendid things and belong in them. And so the piece illustrates that feeling of striving to find and inspire the beauty in people's hearts, and then in their creative effort... but knowing it is now harder than at any other time in history.
