Hey everyone! I was really surprised with how well this piece turned out. I wrote it for Besser als du's (aka The Grand Maestro) challenge which was to make a holiday piece that includes a string ensemble, jingle bells, and chimes. Despite the challenge being pretty easy, I decided to make it harder for myself by making it my first concerto. Strings would've been too easy, and I absolutely despise jingle bells so I decided on making it a chimes concerto. And then I also made it harder on myself for making it jazzy. I had to include a Nutcracker-esque portion in here to get some bonus points, so that was hard to figure out (yes that's the only reason the 2nd movement was created). The 3rd movement takes a melody from the 3rd movement of Vivaldi's "Winter" and expands upon it in a bossfight music kinda way. Each movement was based off of a certain time period describing the holiday season, and through the movements it goes backwards in time. Anyways I've rambled for too long lol. Enjoy!
