Arabesque in Quarantine
Happy new year to everyone! To celebrate the end of 2020, I’ve prepared five pieces to publish.
This piece is the last one of the set of 13 pieces I’ve been composing recently - “13 Pieces evoked by COVID-19.” However, it was one of the first to be composed, being completely finished on Flat by 3/27/20.
Originally, I had wanted to wait until the pandemic and quarantine subsided to publish this piece, It is the only one in a major key, and it symbolizes an end to a dark period. Unfortunately, my patience has only taken me this far. I see no real end to COVID in sight. The vaccines are by all means a large accomplishment, but they alone will not end the pandemic; we cannot relax our precautions yet, but hopefully we can soon.
