Hiiiiiiiiiiiii! I know I have not posted in about 2 months, and that's because I was working on this masterpiece, Dancing Fire. My usual style when it comes to writing songs is more slow and simple, this piece is certainly the opposite. I found it pretty tough to write something that was fast-paced, which is why this took forever, but it was a great learning experience. Now I am a little better when it comes to writing faster songs and just piano solos in general.
Some people didn't like that Sundown wasn't necessarily playable, and I can understand why it would be cool to play a song you like. That's why I made this a playable song for people who are great at playing the piano (not me haha). The Blue notes from measure 61 to the end aren't necessary but make it sound a little cooler, so if you have some big hands that stretch over an octave and two white keys, then go ahead and play it.
This is honestly the first song I've ever written that I can bop my head and vibe to, actually most of the time when I was "writing" the song, I'd have about an hour to work on it but end up listening over and over haha. It's not perfect, but I think this is my best piece yet and I cannot wait to write more music! The first month of working on this was getting the chord progression down (which took A LOT of tries) and I wrote the second half on the song this week... yeah I needed to get this done.
As we all know, school is coming up, so many of us won't be publishing as often, but I'm going to continue to work on writing songs even through Virtual Learning. :D
Because of this experience, I'd like to challenge you guys to (maybe) try writing something completely out of your comfort zone for once, I found that even though writing fast music is hard for me, it's really fun, and I believe you should try something new too!
Thank you for listening to this song (it sounds better with headphones lol) and reading this crazy long description about it. Bye!
