Hey guys! This is my piece for upcoming Halloween.
Being an October baby, surprisingly I have never composed a Halloween piece ever, so this is definitely NOT one of my best works. I did however try my best to think up of a way to portray horror through music.
When listening to this the first time, it wouldn't sound like a Halloween theme at all.
(It sounds like you could dance to it)
Well thing is, I wasn't heading for a very obvious kind of horror theme, rather I was aiming for subtle horror.
Firstly, the title and the image shown on the video are rather contrasting to the music.
It sounds pretty "Hip Hop", yet the title states (translated), "Come..." in a creepy tone.
The takeaway is that not all horrors will come so obvious, rather the real horror is that which you never realised, before it is too late...
Secondly, a pretty subtle detail but realise that the time signature is 3/4 rather than 6/8.
Pretty scary for a musician to sightread directly, as the beat is rather different than written.
Thirdly, at Section C (Bar 45), I love octaves.
So uh, I decided to make it the most technically ardous and demanding part of the whole piece.
(It's practically a short etude)
This is also my submission for @noah_barret
's Halloween competition.
Hope you enjoyed this piece, and Happy Halloween!
