A sadness there, so small, the softest sound, The choice unmade, the chances cruelly missed The place so low one can’t continue down His falling short continues to persist - Bound to leave and leave the past behind A solitary path, the only choice He follows to the utmost any line That stifles out that guilt-bedridden voice - Colliding with a landscape filled with hate, A darkness holds a people in its claws The wanderer vows to march to evil’s gate To cut it out, and thus redeem his flaws - Daring oaths soon bring a daring crowd, And resolute, they travel hard and long. But one observes his leader’s spirits bowed, And wonders if there isn’t something wrong. - Emerging from all land they’d known before, The company now finds a barren waste And hears some sullen creature’s cheerless roar That echoes from some unseen, nearby place - Furious, a dragon burns and storms The hero falls, his damage quite severe A soldier seeks his leader’s fallen form, But suddenly, all soldiers disappear - Gradually, the grey sky fades to black And dragon’s voice now rings out loud and clear, “Tis I, your wrongs, on which you turned your back, No power of yours will ever defeat your fear.” But gentle rain breaks through the clouds above, And fiery beast replaces with a dove. - Headed onwards, finally true of soul, To find the truth unveiled and unfurled. To find this grace, his one convicting goal, Awakening to face the real world.
Each stanza starts with a specific letter and goes with the corresponding section of the music.
I have had this piece sitting around for a respectably long time. It didn't have a name or story that whole time, and I always felt it had a story. Eventually, a friend of mine gave me the name idea 'Flawless,' and I based the name and story off of that. And I wrote the story in poem form - so everybody, please appreciate the iambic pentameter (even it if is imperfect).
Also, hey, my name's Ilsa. I haven't properly introduced myself before.
