It's been a while since I last posted (as most of you probably know), due to the fact that I've been studying abroad in Israel for the past 7 months (well, actually, I got back 3 weeks ago, but I only finished the score now). Luckily I had an electric piano in my dorm there, so I was able to continue composing in my free time but didn't have time to write it down, nor did I have access to flat.io. So I thank you guys for being patient for my return (although it's not much to ask for, since there were tons of amazing pieces from the flat community when I was gone (and I'm still trying to catch up on them))
Now, about this score - I've been composing it over the course of 3-4 months while I was in Israel, deciding that it would be the first piece I publish when I return. I had a load of ideas to put together, but the way I initially scored and expressed it was not done very well. That was after 1 week of writing it, in which my mindset was to rush to please the audience I've been neglecting to give music to for 7 months.
@yoni But when I asked someone for feedback, he told me it sucks (in a way that showed he cared), which initially shocked me, but it helped me get the idea of how to shape my piece into something I'd call one of my best works. I'm really grateful that he reminded me that it's the quality that matters, and rushing to present to the public isn't worth it, because they'll appreciate the quality and effort more than getting it as soon as possible. (I also am involved in other creative tasks besides composing music, so it took me longer than it would have for the dedicated composers of this site)
For this score, the theme was to be very diverse, with no determined destination, hence "No Destiny". Also, I kind of like the phrase "No Destiny", haha. (Naming music is an interesting art.). I had a lot of fun with this piece, despite it being hard to pull off, so
I hope you enjoy this piece, and I hope to enjoy your pieces too!
