Prof. Papaya's Introduction to the land of Kyari- Prolougue!

You, the Daughter/Son of a World-Class Detective, find yourself in the mysterious region of Kyari, a land full of unique Pokemon. You’ve enjoyed interacting with a few from a distance, but you’ve longed to have one of your own. Your father had recently caught quite the sickness, and has been assigned for a long period of bedrest.
You, a young 12 year old teen, decide to take on his quest in his place. To fill in for your father detective, you must visit all 8 of the major cities across Kyari, investigating all of the Gym Leaders. There are rumours of a mysterious Team Bleak, and of one traitorous gym leader.
You, wearing your heart on your sleeve, talk to Professor Papaya, the local Pokemon professor, and ask him to allow you to take on the quest of your father. He agrees, and grants you a Pokedex, a walking encyclopedia for every pokemon you encounter. He encourages you to try your luck in the Pokemon Gym Battles while you’re there, and to try and complete your dex!
You go to your mother and she agrees, saying it’ll be good for you to explore the region. Your father agrees and with that, you set off to the Pokemon World. But before you’re sent off, Prof. Papaya has a very important question for you: what starter are you picking (First comment I see is the starter pokemon!)
