Doki

This is the 3rd piece of my album: "Doki"
For non-Japanese readers, Doki (ドキ) or Doki-doki (ドキドキ) is a term for the sound of a beating heart in Japanese sound symbolism. I used this name to show what the emotion the piece should bring out (The cute feeling)

Basically, I had in mind of making a piece that describes every emotion that I could think of in the album. For this, I could only think of people saying "Aww" at the thumbnail of the SoundCloud link, and voila: this piece is the product.

For the instrumentation, there are the mallet instruments (Xylophone and Marimba) to give the "Childish" feel to it. The piano and Bass guitar is there to provide and support the chords and the percussion is there to give the beat. The melody is also very simple but catchy with a lot of semitones and descending form. All in all, this song is just plain fun and simple, unlike many other pieces that I make. However, it did take me a while to get my head in the composition due to stress for my upcoming exams.
