This concerto was inspired by Rachmaninoff's second Piano Concerto Mvt. I. I worked really hard on this one, spending multiple hours per day just to get it to sound right. I love the theme and feel of this piece, as the piano incorporates staff-switching from bass to treble and many arpeggios. As for the orchestra, the melody is much better than my first concerto on most parts. I really outdid myself for only my third (published) orchestral work. Now for context: On the first part of this piece, I already knew what I wanted. It had a big opening, calm and connected melody, and then a sub melody afterwards. I didn't know what to do with the middle part, so I just made it inspired by Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu (kinda sucks ngl) and went to the grander melody of the first part. The structure on this first half was inspired by Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B-flat Minor, which sounded beautiful. I was hyped from the moment I heard it and loved that I incorporated it in this concerto. On my 1-week travel vacation, I came up with many ideas and am so glad to lay them out on this piece and share it to you all. I hope you enjoy, and have a wonderful day. Thank you <3
