The Regal Ocarina

Hello everyone! This is my latest piece that has been sitting on the shelf for a while, WAITING for me to finish it. I was looking through my scores and I realized, "Wow, I should really finish that!" So this is a march, kind of a return of a triumphant monarch thing, and I was inspired by The Legend of Zelda in my use of the ocarina. I set it to a steady percussion beat to keep it on track, and ended up with this piece.
The harmonies for this piece mimic my love of Dorian and # scale degree 6, with a couple of E major and C# minor sections thrown in. The chords themselves are much bigger than I am used to composing, but I think they worked out nicely. The percussion part I did mostly on my own, but I had some help from Prof. P (shoutout for the wonderful work!) and they help keep the piece moving.
About my last upload: I composed it solely for a family friend who passed away, and I simply wanted to honor his memory, not to use it in my "monthly" upload schedule that I've been doing. That's why this piece is coming so soon after the last.
