Hey everyone, I've been doing alright in all my classes so I'm feeling pretty okay right now. I'm still stressed obviously, but not doing too terrible. I thought now would be a great time to host a competition.
Emotion Sketch Competition! You must write a piece demonstrating an emotion you feel. This is like a vent piece. It can be a good emotion, a bad emotion, whatever you like. You should name the piece after the emotion you are trying to convey and use the tag sketchcomp so I can find all your pieces. They are due by November 12th, at midnight CST. Judging (_/30): Emotion (_/10) - How well does the piece convey the emotion? Technicality (_/10) - How technical is the piece? Not necessarily playing skill, but also the theory behind it. Does the scale make sense for the mood? Does the chord progression fit the concept? etc. Personality/Creativity (_/10) - Be you! I will listen to other music by everyone and compare style. Does the music sound like you while still conveying the emotion? How well was the piece crafted? It doesn't need to be just piano, feel free to use other instruments as well. Preferably <5 instruments. There is no length requirement, since it is a sketch. Please don't make it like 5 minutes long though, sketches are short. I will publish the results on November 17th for the 1 year anniversary of my piece Emotions, and signalling the end of Volume 1 of the Cattywampus project. Have fun!
