This song is my submission for the World Cup Composers (WCC) round two, hosted by JM and others! The story I thought of for this piece is a sequel to a piece I wrote a while ago titled "Fairy Tale for Harp, Piano, and Violin, Op. 40." I will put the link to that in the space below:
https://flat.io/score/655818ffacd4e853bb9551b0-fairy-tale-for-harp-piano-and-violin-op-40 The story continues with the kind-hearted fairy enjoying the lovely warm weather and dancing. However, soon, a thunderstorm strikes the land, and some evil-looking fairies are chasing after the fairy. She flies away from them, and the thunderstorm has lightning and thunder making loud booming noises. After quite a while of flying away from the evil fairies, some lightning hits them, but it is magical. They disappear, and they are not there when the fairy turns around. The fairy is relieved and continues flying, finally seeing clear skies and white clouds. The kind-hearted fairy continues her peaceful flying, and all is good for the fast fairy.
This composition is a Classical and Impressionistic-like piece, and this score tells a story and conveys emotion. It is free of interpretation, and even though I told a story, composers can freely express themselves on what they think the story and music reminds them of. I poured my heart and soul into this piece, and I am more than pleased to post this in the world and for a submission to a fantastic event! L'adieu, everyone!
