Hey guys!! This is the moment you've all been waiting for: I am proud to announce the release of "Holding On," a song that will become part of my (John Raskopf's) new musical entitled "Steel Yourself." This song will appear in Act 2, when Victor is running late for the dinner date that his overbearing father set up for him. The girl hasn't even shown up yet, so Victor spends the night alone at a rickety table in Kaminski's Delicatessen. The lyrics are meant to characterize the different lines of thinking that are swimming around in his head, and the overlapping section (last verse and chorus) shows that they are completely overpowering him as he becomes more and more stressed. Only at the very end does everything cut out except for his voice and the band, symbolizing that all is not completely lost to chaos. As a technical note, a lot of work went into recording all of the lead and ensemble vocal parts, so I hope you enjoy the piece! - John Raskopf
