Hello everyone. This is my entry for the first round of Prof. P's competition. It is meant to be slow and simple at first glance, with many complex interweaving harmonies hidden under the surface, much like the simple turtle. I hope that you enjoy the piece; thank you for listening.
The Turtle He lies on the rocks of a watery riverbank, cooped up in his shell. No one bothers him because no one wants to. He gets by, living quietly and peacefully, in a life of solitude and self-reflection. The turtle never bothers others. He simply solves his problems by his own determination and quiet vigor. If he can’t solve a problem, he conserves his energy for another day. While he may lose his footing because of an occasional current, he always has his shell, a place where he can always retreat to for perfect safety. It is a lonely life, but it is a happy one.
