The Music Box (August 2022 Challenge)
(A Fantasy World in G Minor)
A young boy (me) stares at his beloved music box and listens while the beautiful tones lull him into his sleep. As he falls asleep, the music begins to carry him into a fantasy world where nothing is what it seems.
The music that once lulled him to sleep is now something different. Nightmarish. At times terrifying. As he travels further into the music box, he fears he will never awaken.
And then, all at once, the music stops. The boy awakens to once again hear the beautiful lullaby that would always lull him into his slumber.
However, the music box provides one last memory of the night's journey before resting peacefully.
