Vote for the superior piano here:
https://forms.gle/dDBRUR4WaknemwpJ6 Whichever piano wins the vote, I’ll make a 10+ minute piano solo with, making fully fleshed out sections with ideas previewed in this piece, but mostly new stuff.
If you wanna find specific sections:
Round 1 - Swing: m. 1
Round 2 - Melodic: m. 28
Round 3 - Epic: m. 52
Round 4 - Peaceful: m. 75
Round 5 - Insanity: m. 101
Finale: m. 113
So, about the piece. I had been struggling to write anything for a while, with my last solo original piece being like 3 months ago. I’d always start a piece, then give up on it and move on. So, I decided to make something using those short ideas, constantly switching off to a mood every 8 measures. And I expanded on it by using all three pianos, and having the ideas tradeoff between them, each piano staying in the same style but going in different directions. And with this idea, I wrote faster than I have in a while, and it felt really great to be able to get so many ideas out. And then, naturally, they all came together in the finale, for what I think is some of my best work.
And then yeah, I had the idea to make a full 10 or longer minute piano solo with the piano receiving the most votes, which I’m excited about starting. Enjoy, and go vote in the forms.
