This "album" has a lot of creativity poured into it. How did it come to be? I was raised in Mexico and lived there for 10 years prior to moving to the US, my mother used to sing me a spanish lullaby to put me to sleep whose central theme is heard in these compositions; the lullaby is very famous and is, in modern times called: "duermete mi niño" (Sleep my child).
In hispanic countries, this lullaby has been sung through generations. Originating from spain, we really don't know for certain who composed the theme originally (many many years ago circa unknown.)
Elements of baroque music are heavily used along with novel treatments that I came upon as I composed these "inventions." Truly, these are a deep and luscious musical wilderness that walk you through my imaginative thought process on how I decided to transform this modest yet timeless lullaby into complex piano works. Some of these works have been published individually as they are able to stand-alone as individual compositions, however, it is best when actively heard one after another to enjoy contrasts and surprises!
Let me know which one is your favorite! (My wife really likes the last one)
Note: Some personalized notes on the music theory behind some of these compositions have been included. Feel free to read them or ignore them.
