So here it is. The final piece of my "background music" album, my Magnum Opus.
I wanted this to be as abstract as possible, allowing listeners to interpret it as they see fit. That was the whole point of the "background music" album music.
So, I sat in front of my piano, in a pitch black room, and followed my fingers on the keys. The result is the mellifluous theme of this piece. I took another try and improvised all the way.
The mixing came next, where I tried to make it "not music", but more as a form of "sound". That resulted in the beginning of this piece, so cold and dissonant, yet once you get used to it, it becomes familiar. This piece tests me everything I know about DAWs and mixing, and turned it upside down.
To me, this piece is what I imagine when I hear "subliminal" and "sensation".
NOTE: I really recommend headphones for this experience!
Thank you for reading and listening. Hope you enjoyed! :D
