I unexpectedly got sick this week, so I dug deep into some old scores and pulled this out (So to speak). My friend has written some songs and put them on Spotify (his band is called Shenanigans) and he asked me to help him write one for mothers day (the same time I preformed the Heart and Soul song). He said he wanted it to be about the Good Old days. Specifically the seen from the office where Andy talks about knowing that you're in the good old days. We both worked together on measures 1-30 (I did the piano according to what he wanted while still adding in some of my own touches, and he did the drums) and then he finished the song on a long car ride. My other Friend Kieran helped fit the lyrics properly and he wrote some of his own. Then Lenny couldn't preform so we got our friend Angel to play the drums, but he mostly just free styled instead of following the music which was fine by us. Then we got our friend John Paul to play the piano (who did a little improv as well, but not much), and our friends Johnny, Tommy, and David to sing harmonies along with Kieran and myself. There was a melody part in this score, but I took it out and changed the piano part because I didn't like the way this choir sounded (but it sounded great when we sang it with the piano). The score will not sound exactly like we preformed it, but it's close enough. All of the mom's loved hearing us sing this song and I hope you enjoy listening to it too!
