My submission for this month's challenge! A story about the life cycle of a single droplet.
I thank my older sister for assisting me with the originally horribly-written text ( document at
https://docs.google.com/document/d/14iL3vBp_1FCFfTtu0wNJazkf13kS3VH-8DOLAb4dpVs/edit?usp=sharing ).
Speaking of the text, some annotations are illegible, so I recommend you read this whilst listening instead. In order of measures (M):
M1 — At the surface of the ocean churns a great storm that feels no mercy, even as it pulls a water droplet out of the depths...
M16 — A surface current snatches the droplet and off it swirls...
M24 — So close to the surface,
M26 — the droplet is barraged by rays of heat...
M40 — The little droplet—now vapour—flies towards the sky...
M48 — Cooling down, the vapour starts condensing into a cloud...
M52 — Once condensed, it's chillin' as a droplet once again...
M56 — With too little space between them, friction builds up between the crystals and droplets formed out of vapour....
M60 — Luckily, the friction settles down...
M62 — But days later, the friction grows
M69 — and grows...
M84 — and grows...
M90 — To the droplet's left: A CRACK OF LIGHTNING
M92 — To the droplet's right: A CRACK OF LIGHTNING
M93 — The droplet slips out of the cloud...
M97 — The little droplet plummets, wind whistling nearby and thunder booming far off...
M113 — A mountain catches it, cradles it,
M121 — gently leads it into the river at its foot...
M123 — The droplet meanders with the river until it meets the ocean once more
M125 — and slowly, very slowly, sinks back into its depths...
