Hey everyone! This is my submission for the April challenge. I was tempted to use the star wars set once again for waves, but one of the extra points challenges was to only use the piano, so that’s exactly what I did (the second piano only uses one stave).
To be completely honest this was probably the most fun I’ve ever had composing any of my pieces. Countermelodies are extremely enjoyable, and also quite important to use; I feel like they could be used more often in some of my pieces.
The Finale section of this potentially could be said to be too loud for “Tranquility.” But I will argue that and say tranquility can be both loud yet calm at the same time.
I also wrote a little “short story” to go along with my piece; it really helps create imagery as you listen:
Part One~ It began with rain. The rain gently fell from the clouds, hitting the soft ground. Part Two~ The rain gathered and slid down slopes, collecting in a river. The river carries the water, quickly picking up speed and energy. Part Three~ Meanwhile nearby, it snows. There is a gentle snowstorm in the distance, which seems to be approaching the river. This could cause chaos! Part Four~ The snowstorm travels to the river, but instead of a chaotic disaster, the two creations work together, forming perfect tranquility.
Thank you Flat for this awesome challenge :) Thanks all so much for reading my little story and I hope you enjoy my piece! ~Chop
