So I've decided to join this challenge. And this piece is attempt 5 at this and I am happy with the progress.
I did my best to convey the water cycle as a cycle of emotions for both the Earth and the people living here.
The first section is meant to be condensation, starting with ice crystals around the moon. On a cloudy day, a sure sign of an upcoming storm is when the moon has a halo, or a small rainbow (often all you can see is red) in a ring because of how light reflects through the ice crystals. This is meant to convey the excitement and beauty of this stage as people feel calm excitement before a figurative storm.
Next is the storm itself. Precipitation. This is meant to convey anger at first, and then overwhelming feelings, then sadness. Like the Earth has been building up these feelings for so long and finally decides to crash. The overwhelm is meant to be that point when someone is so angry, they get a headache and hyperventilate and just feel like they are drowning in tears. People can cry in many situations from anger to sadness and even happiness, and that's what this progression means. The uplifting transition was meant to show that although these are negative emotions leading to the rain, they have a positive impact on the environment, much like crying for a person.
The next section is still a stage of precipitation but the tears are slowing down enough to see the beauty of the world. Water running down as a runoff of emotion. From tears sadness to happiness we realize the power of something simple as water.
When the water rises, that represents evaporation. It happens at this point to show how people experience hope and rising up after some type of downfall. The Earth is just like us! And of course, the cycle repeats again just how it began!
The art is in the SC thumbnail as usual though I would recommend using the flat playback for listening. I hope you enjoy! Happy Earth day! -YGG
