Composition Competition 2023 | 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐈𝐈
Hey everyone! Finally, the third round of the competition has come. In case you missed it, the 11 contestants moving on are: AsterYT, Ilsa Groff, Dooboe, Unnatural, RedProductions, Chopiliszt, Tom Pershey, FrenchHornsPugs, Infinitely Intuitive, TJ Bruce, and Zip Zesty Purpickster. For this round, only the top 6 contestants will move on, making it possible for five people to be eliminated. Now for the theme reveal...
The theme for this round is: Uncommon and Weird Instruments! For this round, you must use only the following instruments that are considered to be uncommon, and not many of them are used here or irl.
Brass: Baritone TC
Free Reed: Accordion
Keyboards: Harpsichord
Pitched Percussion: Both steel drums
Percussion: Woodblocks, agogo bells, whistles, cowbell
Plucked Strings: Koto, Oud, Shamisen, Sitar
Strings: Erhu
Voice: Kazoo
Woodwinds: Recorder, Tin whistle, contrabass clarinet, contrabassoon, bagpipe, alto flute, ocarina, dizi, shakuhachi
Special: Both Special effects
You can use as many of these as you want, but you're also able to use ONE extra instrument of your choosing that is not on this list (e.g. piano, bassoon, drum set). You can only do this if your piece has at least 5 weird instruments.
You can also get yourself 5 bonus points by making your piece ONLY out of weird time signatures (No changing to normal ones at all). Some examples include 7/4, 19/8, 1/64, etc.

Creativity - 20
Articulations and Dynamics - 20
Overall Flow - 10
Execution (did you do the challenge well?) - 30
Judges' Enjoyment - 20
*Weird Time Signature Bonus* - 5
Rules:
No plagiarism: Will result in an immediate kick from the competition
Turn in your submission to this score before 8/10/23
Piece has to be at least 60 measures long.
