Race for Sun's Light

Sun's Valley has fallen to the Mirage! One of the townsfolk, Wilkin, cautioned Raymond that the Mirage took off to the west--towards Sun's Valley.
Raymond took off on his horse, Gwynarth, up north through the valley in the Mountains of Light, for he cannot travel over the mountains as the Mirage. Gwynarth pushed forward around the northernmost point of the range and turned west in the open plains of Aurora.
Raymond could see in the distance a dark fog over the city. Sun's Light was still standing, but under vicious attack. He continued to push toward the city, and eventually made it, but was he fast enough?
