‘They huddled close together around the fire, staying warm in this frigid environment. They shared stories, cheered, and had a jolly time all around; in complete opposition to the serene environment. The trees were bare, the birds had gone south, and a white powder coated the landscape. There was not a sound, but the people cheering, over what used to be. It was a bittersweet time; life having left the valley, yet it had never looked more beautiful. Frigid temperatures made it inhospitable, yet the people powered on through. Sad that life had passed on, but celebrating when it was there. Winter is a time of poignant memories as well as joyful ones. It is a bittersweet time.’
Alright, enough poetry, this is my entry for Nerdy Melodies’ Legends Competition round 1. This round’s idea was to write a piano solo about your favorite season. I chose winter because it doesn’t have pollen. I hope y’all enjoy!
