September brought a challenge we were all excited for :)
For this, I've chosen Paper Mario, a game that's resided in my childhood memories for years, idly sitting back and reminding me of the bliss that comes from the early years. The Paper Mario genre, as a whole, felt like a collage of the most innocent adventures our dear plumber could ever go on, as each game encapsulates me with an amazingly unique story (although, for some of the games, this is seriously debated, but let sleeping dogs lie lol). We all know the wild tales and adventures Mario partakes in, but the Paper Mario games decided to add a level of wackiness and innocence that, to me, gave it a special charm.
Despite being under a serious writer's block, I tried my best to write something that caught that nostalgia I feel when I played Paper Mario. Nothing triumphed in expressing that feeling better than most of the beach/ocean themes in the games. I especially adore Rogueport's theme from A Thousand Year Door, but trying to emulate the feeling that theme gave was difficult, so I decided to stick with the easiest feeling to grab: nostalgia
