Here's that good ol' Jacobite song The Skye Boat Song, arranged for Trombone and Trumpet. Tis nae th' pipes, but tis a bonnie tune all the same.
Like the last time I published this song, I did not arrange this because I like Outlander. I prefer the original, Jacobite lyrics, being a guy with those sympathies myself, than the Outlander lyrics.
These lyrics, the way I see it, convey not only the tragedy of the 1745-6 Jacobite Rebellion, and the hope that "Charlie will come again."
The full song is very good. I recommend the version by Noel McLoughlin.
"Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing Onward the sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye."
~Excerpt from "The Skye Boat Song"
By the way, all of you who follow me, or even just viewers, if there's a score similar to what i have published (this goes for whatever I have arranged so far, or will publish in the future), then could you do me a huge favor, and suggest my scores to other people, and if possible, let me know what scores you do this in, so I can check them out as well. I like having traffic on my stuff, and I want to do that for other people. Thanks! ~Conlin
