Through Knowledge

I am hopeful because I know people all over the world are working to understand hard issues and come up with solutions. My composition represents the journey from blissful ignorance to the sadness and feelings of being overwhelmed when gaining knowledge and the hope that comes from understanding a problem and solving it. That journey is not always an easy one, so I composed the entire piece in a minor key and I chose 30 instruments to represent the vast number of people working to solve our problems. That's what gives me hope.
