Hello, nerds! Today, my "12 Fantasias for Flute" book came in the mail today, and I was originally like, "Mom, I want it for Christmas" but she said "no this is just for you" and I have it early. I'm hoping to get flute lessons so my teacher can help me with some of it. Anyways, after I did my flute solo for Solo and Ensemble, I decided to open it up and find a piece that wasn't impossible for me yet and sixth fantasia was one of the only ones out of the 12 that wasn't impossible. Now, for anyone who hasn't seen the music, each movement of this piece contains movements. So, it's a movement within a movement. For Sixth Fantasia, they are divided up into three parts called "Dolce," "Allegro," and "Spirituoso." The hardest one is "Allegro." For today, I decided to sight read "Dolce" and even though the recording says second attempt, let me explain: The first "attempt" I listened to the whole Sixth Fantasia and played some low notes to make sure my flute was warmed up. The second "attempt" was me playing it with no metronome and without a scan of the notes. This weekend, I am hoping to release a sight read or an attempt "Spirituoso" and I don't know when I will publish "Allegro" because it's hard on flute, but I promise that I will try to complete the whole Sixth Fantasia sometime this year lol. Without further or do, enjoy this short snippet of the Sixth Fantasia! Stay Nerdy <3
