This song tells the tale of Ruben, a former Bossa Nova musician who has not played the music in many, many years. He is walking the floors of his old club, which has been shut down for just as many years as his music career.
Suddenly, in the corner of the room, he hears a click-off and the start of a calm bossa nova, reminiscent of the rhythms he once played and the life he once lived. At once, the room is lit up with many other instruments. The sax and piano play vigorous solos while the choir sings in support.
The tone is not one of joy but one of longing and desire. As the songs ends, the room is once again empty. Although the song has come and gone quickly, for a moment, he has felt a sense of happiness, having experienced that rhythm and excitement he still longs for.
