Has anyone other than me actually made a bossa nova song for this challenge? No idea, been studying music genres and got off flat for days.
The background of the piece is something like this:
Captain General Nathaniel Andrew Chang walked into a bar where a band was playing melancholic bossa nova. He ordered a martini and talked with the bartender, recalling the happy memories before the war and the horrible events that had unfolded. Before, the bar had way more staff and customers than it does now, he and his fellow officers would gather here on Friday nights, drinking and chatting and laughing. Now, most of the people he loves are never coming back again, those who survived, like Royce, had also twisted into a completely different identity, although he's still what he looks like, sometimes NAC can't even recognise him. The people and the government still live in fear, he seldom hears laughs, and it seems like the war hasn't been won at all. Victory is yet to be theirs.
How he wish all that never happened. How he wish he could gather at the bar with his colleagues, his friends, and his family once again. How he longs for things to return to what they were.
NAC downed his martini and stepped out of the bar, holding back the urge to cry.
I really enjoyed every moment of composing this piece (my foot, it's torture creating this garbage), there's problems here and there, but I'm glad I made it, on the last day (as for GMT+8). As for the namesake, it's inspired by the song believed to be the first bossa nova recorded "Chega de Saudade", which translates to no more longing, or sorrow or whatever, saudade is too complex. I think changing saudade into sausage would be ironic (for me at least), hence the absurd title.
All set, I guess it's time to read the notifications I've left untended for days. Thanks for listening and reading :)
