Hello everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have published an actual piece. This has mostly been due to a block, but also it is the end of the school year, and I've been very busy these past few months. But fortunately, I have gotten past my block and have gotten back on track to composing! Expect many new pieces coming soon.
This is another soundtrack for my brother's game. Depending on the overall theme of the game, he will either use this piece for a title screen or the theme that plays in one of the abandoned temples.
I tried to compose this piece with a sense of awe and wonder, but also with feelings of emptiness and melancholy. I love the way that reverb can make nearly anything sound ethereal, so I used it a lot in this piece.
This piece is also the second episode (?) of my Travelling Through Time series, where I use unique and underused time signatures. For this piece I used 7/8, which is a very interesting time signature. Usually 7/8 is divided into certain groupings, such as quarter-quarter-dotted quarter, or dotted quarter-quarter-quarter, but I did it differently. In this piece, I didn't really put emphasis on beats within the measure, but rather on just the beginning of the measure. So, this piece could be counted in 1. If you want, suggest what time signature you would like to see next!
