In the first few measures I went from Dbadd9 (or Ab sus4) to Gb maj7 sus2 13 which is expected, but unexpectedly goes to F maj7 /C. This F major chord was what I was able to use as a key foundation of the piece. The song often returns back to this F maj7 /C chord, so while at first it may be unexpected, you eventually grow to expect it.
Note: When I added the F maj7 /C chord at measure three, I noticed it had 6 notes instead of the usual 7 in the other chords. This could lead to inconsistency and potential gaps in the music, especially with the 12/8 time signature. To address this, I included an arpeggio at the end to fill the space and let it ring. I also skipped a third chord in the progression. To sustain the notes for 4 beats before resuming, I changed the time signature to 3/4.
