Jazz Cats

Hello all!

I'd like the preface this by saying that I know little to nothing about jazz, but this is my attempt to emulate that sound (including a lick reference...). I tried to listen to a little bit of jazz and jazz players and combine that from what I knew about jazz to make something. Some of what I employed includes swung rhythms, chord extensions, melodic modal mixture, ii-V-Is, tritone substitutions, offbeats, soli, etc. I used a combo jazz ensemble and an ABA format, I hope you enjoy!
