Beautiful as you || lyrical

So uuh... hi! this piece is for the comp comp and the nekdo comp because no way in heck was I gonna write two individual songs for each lol. I had this whole amazing description planned but now that it's done and I'm so tired, Idk what to say anymore....

anyway, I used the theme "hanker sore" for this piece, which is basically where you find someone so attractive that it makes you mad, though I went with more of a jealousy route- adding extra strings to certain sections (like verse 2 and the second chorus) to symbolize at how jealousy can eat at you, and had the break and the bridge be the whole anger part of jealousy. I kept the ending calm though cuz in the end, it just leaves you unfulfilled (super deep ik).

I want ppl who have kinda hated themselves or the way they look to be able to resonate with this piece, and btw I've been practicing singing in front of my family and if I keep this up, I may be able to one day upload a version with me singing instead of piano! (also btw I used a mix of musescore strings and flat.io instruments because the flat strings are... not the vibe I'm going for lol)
