I chose the Wii Shop Channel Theme composed by Kazumi Totaka as my “Echo Song.” The reason I chose this song was not only because I love the works of Kazumi Totaka (which include K.K. Stroll, K.K. Parade, K.K. Island and K.K. D&B) but because these by Kazumi Totaka inspired me to get back into music. Originally, I found most piano works I had played when I first had started piano were uninteresting because I had never heard half the songs I had played. (I’m sorry that I don’t want to play a song about Clocks or Rabbits.) But when I discovered the upbeat and fun melodies by Kazumi Totaka, and learned to play them, it reignited a passion for piano I never thought I had. (In fact, these songs were one of the hugest factors that led me to sign up with Flat.io, so I could transpose them in order for me to play them.) Over time, I improved greatly, and have been inspired to create my own original scores. Anyways, I also made the theme of this song about Central Park based off the (almost) magical experience I had there with my friends and family. Shoutout to my family who kept encouraging me to pursue my passion for music as well.
