The challenge this time was simple - write a piece featuring a piano + string quintet. As far as I understand, I've done this challenge correctly.
Yes, I chose 5/8 of my own volition. I wanted to experiment a little with weird time signatures, and with the piano and strings I decided a waltz would be good. I've been wanting to try a "half waltz" or a "5/8 waltz" for a long time, and finally was able to do it here. I really liked the way the piano and cello sounded together in the beginning, and kept going with that. It really didn't take me that long to write; most of my time here was spent polishing and nitpicking. The notation probably isn't that clean, but it never is. I prioritized fixing and nitpicking the playback.
I'm rather happy with how this one turned out. Next week's upload will be another piece in the Tetran Legacy series, following A Canto Unknown. (I'm uploading them in no particular track order, by the way. Just the order I write them.)
I think that's all I want to say, so remember,
Reality's an illusion, The universe is a hologram, Buy gold, byeeeee!
