memento - #3
Nocturne #3 in Eb Major
Hey there!
The nocturnes I've posted have gotten a lot of attention in the past (including the ironically named "Daydream", my biggest song on Flat and "it'll be okay", my second biggest song on Flat.) So I decided that I'm going to work more on this nocturnes series!
This is "memento", the third nocturne in a series of nocturnes! It's my first piece I've published that features lyrics! The lyrics may not be very good, but to be fair, it wasn't originally supposed to have lyrics and I haven't written very many lyrics, so yeah. I hope that this nocturne will get even half as much attention as the last ones!
This piece is a sad, lyrical, emotional piano solo (get the reference?!) with lyrics written from the point of view of a person going through a breakup. This person knows they should move on, but they aren't quite ready to. They believe that if they had stayed together and continued to work through it, they could've had an amazing future.
(Something to note: This piece is not about me or my own relationship in any way! I'm very happy with my girlfriend, and we have a strong, committed and happy relationship. She's my best friend and I love her so much!)
