Hey everyone, how is it going? Today, I decided to compose my fourth tarantelle (tarantella) for solo piano, and this one reminds me of a storm. This song reminds me of an interesting but scary scenario: a tornado with strong winds, but it throws out millions of spiders. Imagine that. A mere tornado spitting out millions of creepy-crawly spiders. Personally, that would be my worst nightmare (spiders and snakes scare the literal heck out of me).
A tarantelle (or tarantella) is an Itilian folk dance originating from Sourthern Italy, 15th-17th centuary (I would say it's still been being used through time). This infamous dance has an interesting yet fascinating superstition behind it: they say if you dance the tarantella, it can drive away sickness and illness. It's a cure for illness. The tarantella gets his name from the common spider, the tarantula, and apparently their bite can cause crazy things, and the tarantella can drive off those illnesses. Pretty crazy, right? I think it is.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this song and my music and history lesson! I would love to hear what you all think about this song, and what spicy interpret you think of! I would love to hear your thoughts! Have a wonderful and blessed day, everyone, and have fun dancing!
