Hey Flat. Sorry it's been so long since my last publish. I haven't even taken a break from composing per se; it's just that I've finished a lot of stuff that I don't think is good enough to display, and I've left a lot of promising scores half-finished due to burnout. I feel like I say this on every score, but I can only allocate so much of my time towards music, so I'm never able to write as often as I wish I could. That being said, the comments I receive on the few scores I have encourage me to keep going, so I wanted to thank everyone for that.
In the meantime, as I get ready to wrap up the scores I've been working on over the summer (if I can finish them in a timely manner I might actually get a consistent upload schedule :o) I decided to share a short study I did on orchestration a while ago. I like to think I specialize in big orchestral scores, so getting some practice in is always good. For this one, I worked on setting different kinds of moods, from delicate to hopeful to epic, concentrating on dynamics and thickness for each part. If anyone wants to dissect my orchestration, I am more than willing to send my Musescore file.
You can think of this as a "trailer" of sorts for the stuff I hope to release in the near future. And I promise I WILL release stuff. Just, yk... it might take some time. ehe
