doing a submission every month until i either win or Die trying
I am sorry.
I tried so, so, SO hard to do a summer piece and finish a piece for all four seasons on my account.
but HOLY HELL that is not happening, literally no creative juices were flowing on november 8th-13th (so i had to compromise, sadly)
i started this piece already without much hope in mind. i'm thankful to god that i at least put something cohesive out, but i really wasn't feeling it, especially at the end. the first two parts i actually got in the groove, but sadly i fell out of it when it came to creating a transition to a more blizzard-esque section of the piece. i choseto actually go for all the bonus requirements and do my best to follow the challenge instruction to a T to increase my chances of winning. i'm sorry this was so lazily made, and also for the length (my shortest submission yet). hopefully burnout finishes doing its thing. november is my least favorite month, anyway.
REQUIREMENTS/PIECE INFO BELOW
i chose winter. i like winter, it brings me many good memories and has a notable absence of school. also presents. presents are cool. (i'd like to try egg nog one day)
the instrument i chose was a higher register piano. sorry if it's uncreative, but i did my best to keep it at a higher octave and no chords to resemble the cascading snowflakes.
beginning of the piece: end of autumn, winter is growing near as snow begins to fall
"leggiero" section: winter begins and takes its course, much more notes in the upper register to signal more snow, also thematically contrasts with the more legato beginning
end section: transition into spring, snow begins to slow down as well as the piece, recalling the beginning triplets but with a warmer tone as key shifts from minor to major
end: resolves in major, signaling start of spring; snow can no longer be seen
bonus points: tempo changes during leggiero part and end to mimic journey through winter
