Fawning

Hi Everyone!

I wrote this song after a realization that I much too often "agree" with others just because they are older or more experienced and I assumed they knew better. It wasn't until college that I really had the freedom to explore things for myself and realized that I don't agree with everything I have been taught or told. The problem was the guilt that came with disagreeing. It felt like something to always be apologizing for, even though it shouldn't be that way. this may be where my struggle to create boundaries and difficulty saying no comes from. I only realized recently that this approach to interacting with people has a name: Fawning.
Basically people-pleasing to avoid conflict.

And I've decided to work on reversing this behavior. Finding a balance between keeping others happy and doing things for myself. So that's what this song is about. I hope you enjoy it! (If not, that's okay too, I wrote this for me :))
