The theme I used for reference:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=demt0JrjE7k Hey all! Been a little while.
So this is the theme from Crash Course, the web series made by Hank and John Greene. I heard it again for the first time in a long time the other day, and I never really realized how good it was. It sounded stunning, but it was a shame because it was only a few seconds long. I did an arrangement of it, which took me about 10 minutes, and then decided to take matters into my own hands and extend it. Using the chords and the "doo doo doo doo" (you know what I mean) melody, I wrote verses, added a bridge, and shredded some gnarly guitar solos in the chorus. I accidentally blended the clean electric and the distortion leads to make a really nice texture, and of course it had to have a tin whistle. In the parts that are taken directly from the original, I added my own personal touch. The idea was to make it feel like what the original song would sound like if it was written by the original composer. I think I've done that, but I'm interested to see what you guys think.
