For the 2024 December Challenge: Santa’s Workshop Symphony
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s much better than I originally thought it would be. I imagine Santa’s workshop as a fun joyful place, so I wanted the ukelele to capture that feeling. The sound of a harp (to me) always makes something feel magical, so I included it here. This is my first writing percussion so I hope it’s not too bad. XP
Description: m.1-4: Santa calls together the elves to make presents. m.5-28: The elves work on the presents with hammers (harp). Distant hoofbeats sound in the distance (hand clap). m.29-36: The elves, thinking they are finished, sing cheerfully, but a messenger arrives with more gifts to make. m.37-44: The elves rush to make the presents, with hammers banging (piano) and folding wrapping paper (harp). m.45-52: Santa comes in and tells the elves to not rush so much and to do a good job with the gifts. m.53-60: The elves finish the presents and begin to load them up on the sleigh, each with a magical touch (harp). m.61-65: Santa gets in the sleigh and praises the elves for all their hard work. m.66-68: He takes off and the reindeer (drum set) lead him away. m.69-74: The elves relax and sing joyfully for a job well done.
Holiday Melodies: Jingle Bells (m.29-32, 71-74: soprano and violin) Carol of the Bells (m.37-44: soprano, m.69-70: piano, ukelele, harp)
