woo i cant believe the year is ending in only 10 days!! it felt like only a month, when did time pass by so quickly?
anyways, about the piece i've been working on this for about a little over a month now and it had me going insane, the procrastination made me actually crazy
the idea of a part in a a piece that does nothing is kinda funny to me i had some feedback from my amazing friends and it made this sound gorgeous!! my music theory knowledge has increased and i learnt about modes and dorians and phygrians and oh my goodness it just made things sound soo much better. i worked really hard on this so i hope it gets recognized :D
MUSIC ANALYSIS!! HERE:
i watched a video about funky time signatures and there was this one about 29/16 so i thought "i bet i could do that" and i ended up doing 19/16. tbh i actually like the time signature a lot and it's very unique, can we make it a petition to use the randomest time signatures ever it would be so cool
i think we should go and do like weird key signatures more not like 7/8 or 10/8 cause they're too common to be "weird" like i wanna see 30/16
modes actually changed my life, they made this piece so much more dramatic and intense and i love it. we need to make mode changes more of a thing and out there because i never understood the concept of being able to use accidentals while making it sound still so good and cool... it's like, holy moly!!!
i used the main motif of the ascending g to b a lot because i liked how it sounded, i even brang it up to a back-to-back melody with a dorian thingy
phygrian was also used in the calm part, it made it more diminished but other than that i like it
i might've used dorian wrong in the second motif, because it sounds more natural... i think it ended up turning into d minor instead of dorian, but that's fine! i ended up using dorian actually right somewhere near the key change where it actually sounds like a dorian yayyy
