HAPPY ONE YEAR ON FLAT, I started January 20th 2024 and this is a little early, but I resonate with this challenge because of how much Iβve improved on my scores, understanding theory and how instruments interact to create something melodic, or dissonant and muffled, Iβd also like to thank my flat friends because some of their songs taught me a different way of how to compose parts. And theyβve helped me getting to where I am now. but anyways, now for the actual challenge desc.
The beginning contains a lot of half step jumps and a (basic) bass instrument parts. This creates almost a janky feel, like getting to test the waters on my musical journey. The second part repeats, quiet then loud, as I experimented with bigger, and higher quality songs, I got more traction and things were speeding up. Then, it goes into the trio (third part of a marche), and it gets quiet, and I had faced a stump in my music, I wasnβt growing as fast, and I wasnβt sounding as good as I liked, so I studied many famous composers and found my footing. Understanding the theory better than I ever did! Finally, there is a build up to the ending, which is just to raise tension. But the ending repeats the trio from before. And like the second part, itβs quiet the first time and loud the second time. This shows that unlike my block, itβs now been changed to a finished version, with the bass and percussive parts filled in. Showing the final form of my composing and where I stand currently, and the beginning two measures play back, showing my coming full circleβ¦
