Wow, what a start to this year. The second song in the last 2 months? A miracle is upon us.
With that being said, I composed this song so fast(within 30 mins) that I didn’t really know what I was doing during the process.
What I do know though, is the fact that this is an “Absence” sequel, as you can probably tell by this song’s name. In my opinion, many original things are better than their sequels, but I can assure you that I’m always improving, even if it may not seem like it.
Initially, I felt empty when opening Flat; at that point I would often just abandon the project and do something else. This time, though, I didn’t feel like stopping. With this determination, I did what any version of me would’ve done and started the piece with the most basic baseline known to mankind.
That seemed to be all that it would take as I yet again composed great melodies. The presence of ideas(haha song title) was almost overwhelming. I managed to create this song out of a basic baseline that one would call so generic that all variations sound the same.
For some things, you just have to start. It doesn’t matter if it’s unbearable at first because I mean, no one has listened to your piece but you. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks because no one will think about it until you share your refined, elegant, and maybe orchestrated music to whoever you would like.
It seems to be a recurring pattern as to how I always compose best on the weekends. I usually only take time out of my life for music on days that I know I will have the time to just sit in front of my monitor for a few hours and create something new. Honestly, I kind of like that pattern.
And that's it, I’ve said everything that needs to be said about what happened during the creation of this piece. I amaze myself every time by what I can make, and I hope to continue that.
See you maybe in February if I really am just cooking this year
