hi, this is the second movement
sorry it took so long, this piece took weeks to muster up the courage to finish compared to my first movement, which i finished in a day. i'm not a big fan of this piece but i need to start putting more things out there that i'm not proud of. mistakes = improvement or something
this piece continues the theme of love throughout the entire string quartet, based around a japanese singer called Yukiko Okada who passed away via suicide in the 80s-90s. i suggest you look further into it on your own, since it may help to understand the thematic choices in this piece. for anyone struggling to suicide, this message is for you:
see a therapist. i'm not qualified to help people out with mental health nor do i have a positive outlook on life. just see a therapist dawg 🙏
i planned for this movement to be considerably shorter than mvt 1, but it still ended up being a chunky 7 minutes. the third movement will be the longest out of all of them too, so i really screwed myself over 😖
despite the execution of some ideas and the entire structure of the piece, it doesn't sound too bad. especially if you use ear plugs, and maybe turn the volume down, and maybe turn your phone off
i hope you enjoy, this piece is more vulnerable than the last one, and i hope you prepare for the second half of movements. this will be the last "calm" one.
